Frequently Asked Questions

Why do CPR and BLS certifications expire like a carton of milk?

Because lifesaving skills get rusty! The American Heart Association recommends renewing every 2 years to keep you sharp, confident, and ready to jump into action—kind of like a superhero refresher course.

Can you really learn to save a life in just one day in Palo Alto?

Absolutely! Safety Training Seminars offers AHA-certified CPR, BLS, and First Aid renewal courses that are fast, hands-on, and packed with life-saving know-how—all in a single day.

What’s the difference between CPR and BLS, anyway?

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is basic lifesaving for everyone. BLS (Basic Life Support) is CPR’s big sibling—designed for healthcare providers who need more advanced training, like working in teams and using special equipment.

Is it normal to practice CPR on a dummy that doesn’t talk back?

Yep! Those silent manikins are your best practice buddies. At Safety Training Seminars, you’ll get plenty of hands-on time with them to perfect your compressions and rescue breaths—no complaints from the dummy!

Can I wear scrubs, a cape, or just jeans to my renewal course?

Dress comfortably—no cape required (but not discouraged either)! Safety Training Seminars encourages relaxed, ready-to-learn attire. You’ll be kneeling, practicing, and maybe even sweating a little during those compressions.

Do I need to memorize every step to pass the class?

Nope! The instructors in Palo Alto are there to help you practice and understand—not memorize like a robot. The focus is on real-world skills, not perfect recall under pressure.

What’s the most surprising thing you’ll learn in a First Aid renewal course?

Probably that you can treat a nosebleed without tipping your head back—and that everyday items like a credit card can help with a bee sting! Safety Training Seminars makes first aid feel surprisingly fun and practical.

Can taking a renewal course actually be... fun?

Believe it or not—yes! With experienced instructors, real-life scenarios, and a few laughs along the way, Safety Training Seminars in Palo Alto turns serious training into an engaging, empowering experience.
