Medical & Healthcare Professionals
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is recommended for healthcare professionals and students who may need to respond to cardiac or respiratory emergencies. This includes nurses, nursing students, physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, medical assistants, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, and other allied healthcare professionals.
CPR first aid courses for childcare
Childcare Providers

California childcare providers are required to complete Pediatric CPR and First Aid training, along with EMSA Health, Safety, Nutrition, and Lead Poisoning Prevention courses to meet California licensing requirements. These courses help childcare professionals develop the skills needed to respond to medical emergencies, prevent injuries, and provide a safe, healthy environment for the children in their care.

FAQs

Everything You Need To Know

The right course depends on your role and certification requirements. Healthcare professionals typically need BLS, ACLS, PALS or NRP, while childcare providers usually require Pediatric CPR & First Aid and EMSA Health & Safety. If you’re learning CPR for work, family or personal knowledge, our CPR & First Aid course is the best choice. If you’re unsure, our team is happy to help you choose the correct course.

BLS (Basic Life Support) is designed for healthcare professionals such as nurses, doctors, EMTs and dental staff, covering advanced CPR techniques, team-based resuscitation and airway management. CPR & First Aid courses are intended for the general public and teach essential lifesaving skills, including CPR, AED use and first aid for adults, children and infants.

Yes. We are an official American Heart Association Training Centre offering AHA certification courses, alongside California EMSA-approved childcare training and selected American Red Cross courses. All certifications meet the relevant industry and regulatory requirements for the course you complete.

Course length varies depending on the programme. Most blended learning courses include 1–3 hours of online learning, followed by a 30-minute to 2-hour hands-on skills session, depending on the course. Online-only courses can usually be completed in around 1–2 hours at your own pace.

Most American Heart Association, American Red Cross and American Academy of Pediatrics certification cards are valid for two years before renewal is required. We recommend checking your employer’s requirements and renewing before your certification expires.

Yes. Once you’ve successfully completed your required online learning and skills testing, you’ll receive your official certification card on the same day, so you’re ready to meet workplace or licensing requirements without delay.

Our Bloodborne Pathogens, Opioid Education and Pet First-aid courses are completed entirely online. Courses that lead to American Heart Association certification, such as BLS, ACLS, PALS and CPR & First Aid, require a hands-on skills session in addition to the online learning to receive certification.

Most California childcare providers need Pediatric CPR & First-aid and EMSA Health & Safety training to meet state childcare licensing requirements. If you’re unsure which certification your employer or licensing body requires, contact us and we’ll point you towards the correct course.
