Frequently Asked Questions

Who needs BLS certification?

BLS certification is typically required for nurses, doctors, paramedics, dentists, EMTs, and other healthcare professionals. It’s also beneficial for students in medical programs and anyone working in emergency response roles.

How long does a CPR certification last?

CPR and BLS certifications are valid for two years through the American Heart Association. We offer renewal courses to help participants stay certified.

Do you offer same-day CPR certification in San Francisco?

Yes! Upon completing the required coursework and hands-on skills testing, participants receive their AHA eCard on the same day.

Are online CPR courses valid?

While the theory portion of CPR and BLS courses can be completed online, hands-on skills testing is required for full American Heart Association certification. Our courses use a hybrid model where participants complete online coursework before coming in for an in-person skills evaluation.

Where do you teach classes in San Francisco?

Safety Training Seminars has 4 offices located within San Francisco county. They are located in the Inner Sunset, Bayshore, Mission Bay by the ballpark, and Nob Hill on Van Ness Avenue.

What should I bring to my class?

Participants should bring their RQI login credentials (if applicable), a valid ID, and comfortable clothing suitable for hands-on training. If taking an ACLS or PALS course, watching the recommended pre-course videos can help ensure a smooth experience.

How do I reschedule my class?

You can reschedule by paying a $30 fee or using reschedule insurance if purchased at booking time.

The class was extremely convenient for my work schedule and emergent need to acquire my BLS. The program is online and is very thorough. I was able to acquire all the knowledge needed to be compliant with BLS certification, once the class is completed, you receive the certification on email right away with no downtime and you are good to go. I Highly recommend this service for any BLS ACLS or PALS certification which is accredited through the American Heart Association. Thank you for your service services

ST was great to work with to get my First Aid/AED/First Aid certification. I initially had to resked my first attempt and they made that so easy. They made sure there’s clear location and entry directions to my classroom location. The instructor Fritzie and my fellow students were all remote but the class size was small so she could easily field questions and make sure we were doing what was needed. There was room for one other student in my classroom but I was on my own. There was both an adult CPR doll and a baby doll. Both were attached to computers so it could gain data if I was doing CPR properly. The class was the instructor tells us what we would focus on and we would demonstrate and we would move on. If we interrupted flow with random questions on why we were doing things, Fritzie was able to explain it so we would understand but able to move on to the next thing fairly quickly. Fritzie was very knowledgeable and able to run with the punches. My phone overheated and needed time to cool down but I was able to jump in without missing anything and another student has to run to the car for a charger. I would recommend you let students know to bring a charger as you’re using your phone to conduct the class and battery life varies. But that’s a slight glitch and I think it was 5 star service.

I had a very positive experience taking my BLS class with Safety Seminars. Scheduling was quick and easy, and I appreciate that they offer so many convenient locations. What impressed me most was their responsiveness. They actually answer their phones, and whenever I needed assistance, someone was readily available to help. The class was excellent, and if I needed to take ACLS, I would definitely return to Safety Seminars. I highly recommend them.

I recently completed the NRP neonatal resuscitation class, and it was a great experience. The instructor was incredibly nice and full of energy, which made the material much easier to engage with. I learned a lot — the hands-on practice and clear explanations really helped the concepts click. I’d recommend this class to anyone who works with newborns.
