This was a great way to take the class- online from home- and the skills assessment- in an office while a real person was on Zoom guiding me through it! I felt safe in the office! Great idea for this CPR/ first aide course. I will recommend it!

Scheduling was easy, tons of availability, the center was clean, and the instruction from the manikins was really helpful. I will use this service again! Oh, and the customer service was beyond great. I called and left a message and someone called me back right away.

FAQs

NRP FAQs

The NRP course uses a blended learning format. You’ll complete the required online learning before attending an instructor-led hands-on skills session. This approach combines the flexibility of online study with the practical assessment required for certification.

Yes. After successfully completing your instructor-led skills session, you’ll receive your official American Academy of Pediatrics NRP Provider certification on the same day.

NRP focuses specifically on the resuscitation and stabilisation of newborn infants during the first minutes after birth. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) covers the recognition and management of life-threatening emergencies in infants and children beyond the neonatal period. Healthcare professionals working in maternity and neonatal settings may require NRP, while those caring for older infants and children may require PALS.

Bring a valid photo ID and proof that you’ve completed the required online learning before your scheduled skills session. Wear comfortable clothing, as you’ll take part in hands-on neonatal resuscitation simulations throughout the course.

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is designed to train healthcare professionals in the evidence-based assessment and resuscitation of newborns during the first minutes of life. The course focuses on recognising newborn distress, providing effective positive-pressure ventilation, performing advanced airway interventions where appropriate, and stabilising infants who require resuscitation in the delivery room or neonatal setting. The curriculum follows the latest American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines and prepares participants to respond confidently during neonatal emergencies.

NRP certification is typically required for healthcare professionals involved in the care of newborn infants. This includes labour and delivery nurses, NICU nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, midwives, obstetricians, paediatricians, respiratory therapists and other clinicians who may be responsible for newborn resuscitation immediately after birth. Many hospitals and maternity units require current NRP certification as part of employment or clinical privileges.

The course focuses on the practical skills needed to assess and manage newborns who require resuscitation after birth. Participants learn neonatal assessment, effective positive-pressure ventilation, airway management, chest compressions, coordinated team communication, and the appropriate use of resuscitation equipment. Hands-on simulations help participants apply current NRP algorithms in realistic clinical scenarios.

The latest edition of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program places greater emphasis on evidence-based practice, team communication and simulation-based learning. Updated guidance reflects current neonatal research and reinforces effective ventilation, coordinated resuscitation techniques and structured decision-making to improve outcomes for newborns requiring emergency care.

NRP certification should be renewed in accordance with your employer’s requirements and the current Neonatal Resuscitation Program provider guidelines. Many hospitals require healthcare professionals working in neonatal care to maintain an up-to-date NRP certification to remain compliant with workplace policies and ensure they are following the latest evidence-based practices.

Yes. NRP uses realistic simulation-based training to help participants develop both technical and teamwork skills. Working through neonatal emergency scenarios allows healthcare professionals to practise assessment, communication and resuscitation techniques in a safe learning environment before applying them in real clinical situations.
