Frequently Asked Questions

What classes does Safety Training Seminars offer in Corte Madera, CA?

Safety Training Seminars offers BLS, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and First Aid classes in Corte Madera, CA. Every course follows official American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and is taught by experienced instructors. You can pick the class that matches your role, whether you work in healthcare or want lifesaving skills for home, school, or work. The center also offers NRP, EMSA, Bloodborne Pathogens, and other safety courses. To get started, choose your course and reserve a spot online.

Who should take a BLS or CPR class?

BLS suits healthcare professionals who need provider-level certification, including nurses, EMTs, dentists, and medical students. CPR and First Aid classes suit community members like teachers, coaches, and parents. If your job requires a specific card, check with your employer first, then choose the matching course so your certification meets their standard. Both options build real skills you can use with confidence when seconds count.

What is the difference between BLS, CPR, and First Aid?

BLS teaches provider-level skills for cardiac arrest, choking, and respiratory emergencies, and healthcare employers usually require it. CPR covers chest compressions and rescue breathing for adults, children, and infants at a community level. First Aid adds wound care, burns, and allergic reaction response. In short, BLS targets clinical staff, while CPR and First Aid fit the general public. Choose based on your job requirement or personal safety goals.

What is the difference between ACLS and PALS?

ACLS trains providers to manage adult cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias and stroke, while PALS focuses on pediatric and infant emergencies like respiratory distress and shock. Both target experienced healthcare professionals who already hold BLS skills. Choose ACLS for adult care and PALS for treating children and infants.

How are the classes formatted?

Most classes use a blended format: you finish a self-paced online course first, then complete hands-on skills testing in person. BLS runs 1–2 hours online with a 30-minute skills test, while ACLS and PALS take 2–3 hours online plus 30 minutes of testing. Skills sessions use Voice-Assisted Manikins that give real-time feedback on compression depth, rate, and recoil. Some Red Cross courses run fully online with no in-person testing.

How do I schedule a class at the Corte Madera location?

Pick an available date that fits your schedule, then register online for your chosen course. The Corte Madera center at 510 Tamalpais Dr, Suite D runs classes daily from 8 am to 10 pm, including evenings and weekends. Spots fill quickly for popular classes like BLS and ACLS, so book early. If you have questions about timing or course options, contact Safety Training Seminars directly for help choosing the right session.

Do you provide same-day certification cards?

Yes. You receive your official AHA eCard the same day you complete and pass your course. That means no waiting weeks for proof of certification. Same-day cards help you meet job deadlines fast, which matters when an employer or clinical rotation needs your credential before your start date. To get certified quickly, book a class and finish your online coursework before your skills test.
