This was a great way to take the class- online from home- and the skills assessment- in an office while a real person was on Zoom guiding me through it! I felt safe in the office! Great idea for this CPR/ first aide course. I will recommend it!Posted on Google![]()

Basic Life Support (BLS) teaches the essential skills needed to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies, including CPR and AED use. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) builds on these foundations with advanced training in ECG rhythm recognition, airway management, emergency medications, cardiac arrest algorithms, and team-based resuscitation. ACLS is intended for healthcare professionals who manage or lead cardiovascular emergencies.
The ACLS course uses a blended learning format. You’ll complete the online learning portion at your own pace before attending a short, in-person skills session with an AHA instructor. This approach provides the flexibility of online study while ensuring you demonstrate the practical skills required for certification.
Yes. Once you’ve successfully completed your hands-on skills session, you’ll receive your official American Heart Association ACLS Provider eCard the same day. This allows you to provide proof of certification to your employer immediately.
The AHA ACLS Certification course is designed for healthcare professionals who manage cardiopulmonary emergencies. Its purpose is to enhance clinical skills in recognizing and responding to cardiac arrest, stroke, and other life-threatening cardiovascular events through advanced algorithms, team dynamics, pharmacology, and high-performance resuscitation techniques.
ACLS certification is typically required for physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, dentists providing sedation, and other clinicians who work in emergency, critical care, or acute care environments. Many hospitals, surgical centers, and ambulance services mandate current ACLS certification as a condition of employment or clinical privileges.
The course covers early recognition of respiratory and cardiac emergencies, advanced airway management, rhythm interpretation, pharmacology, electrical therapy, and effective team communication. Students practice hands-on skills through simulated adult resuscitation scenarios to reinforce proper application of AHA ACLS algorithms and evidence-based treatment.
AHA PALS Certification is valid for two years from the date of completion. To renew, participants must complete an official PALS renewal course that reviews core skills, updates, and current guidelines. Renewal courses are typically shorter than initial certification classes, as they focus on reinforcing knowledge and addressing recent guideline changes.
Participants should have a current AHA BLS Provider certification and strong proficiency in ECG rhythm recognition, pharmacology used in cardiovascular emergencies, and basic arrhythmia interpretation. Completion of the AHA online Pre-Course Self-Assessment is recommended to ensure readiness and to support successful completion of the course.
