BLS CPR Course For Dentists

BLS CPR Requirement
In California, all dentists are required to complete the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) course. This training ensures dental professionals are fully prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies and provide high-quality CPR. By maintaining current BLS certification, dentists protect their patients’ safety while meeting state licensing and professional compliance requirements.

Warning - Fraudulent BLS Courses
Some dental societies and dental organizations advertise BLS certification but fail to follow American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. These fraudulent courses often skip required manikin practice and issue non-AHA cards, leaving participants unprepared and at risk of rejection by employers.
Only AHA-compliant BLS training ensures valid certification, hands-on practice, and genuine skills to respond effectively in life-threatening emergencies. Always confirm that your course follows official AHA standards.
Warning Signs
Dentists should be cautious of fraudulent BLS courses offered by dental societies that don’t follow American Heart Association (AHA) standards. Warning signs include:
Ratio: Must have 1 instructor for every 9 students. If more than 9 students and only 1 instructor, AHA guidelines have been ignored.
Book Policy: Must provide all students with the AHA BLS book or online book. If they allow you to use a book during the class, this is a major violation of AHA guidelines.
Length of Course: Course length must be at least 3 hours.
If you have taken a class from a dental society that is not following AHA guidelines, please contact us.
Consequences of Taking a Fraudulent
If you have taken a fraudulent BLS course, it is possible that your certification card can be revoked and also it is possible that your CE credits can be revoked.
Also, the Dental Board of California can be contacted which could put your license in jeopardy. Don’t take the risk. Take a valid American Heart Association BLS course.
Take A Valid Compliant AHA BLS Course
If you take an American Heart Association course with Safety Training Seminars, you can be 100% sure that you will receive the correct BLS certification card for dentists and also receive CE credits from the Dental Board of California.
Why risk saving $10 and taking a non-compliant course from a dental society?
